I know it’s a bit of an old subject but i have recently stepped into the ‘proper’ prints arena.Sue Hill was so helpful and gave me some great pointers - you might have read them.I have found a company that i can recommend to anyone who needs their hand held through the process a bit! Steve at Lynimage , a fantastic source of knowledge and very willing cost effective help.I am passing this on as i don’t believe i found him by accident - it was an answer to prayer and therefore whilst not exactly a topic of theological chat most definitely a ‘God in all things’ moment.

Becky- mounting and wrapping prints

Hello knowledgeable people!Can anyone help me?I am very excited that my artwork has just been accepted by a gallery in Cornwall however all my prints need to mounted and cellophane wrapped.Does anyone know how i go about doing this so that my work looks suitably professional?

Art and commercialism

I watched an interesting programme last night about how the visit of the Mona Lisa to New York in the 60’s (I think) started off a popularisation of art which had led to art being viewed as a marketable commodity, rather than being appreciated for its depth and meaning. It was hard to argue with the fact that key artists nowadays are bought as a financial investment, rather than for the intrinsic merits of the artwork itself. I was wondering how much we, as Christian artists, are sucked into the money aspect of art, in terms of thinking about the commercial value of work before its message and meaning.

Hello all. I have joing Veritasse recently (about a month) and have truly enjoyed viewing everyone’s artwork. I am a little discouraged on the connection between the artists as I feel I don’t know anyone and despite my attempts to comment on your work I feel you must not look at your sites very much. Perhaps that has to do with the holidays. I am American so I don’t know British school terms tend to fall on. I was hoping to talk about Christian art and saying something real and true with other likeminded believers.

Hello :) I am emailing to enquire if you would know of any books, journals or people that would be able to bring me insight on the area of my dissertation. In this piece of work I will be looking at the tensions between law and freedom within Christianity and the effects this has on dance whithin a denomination. For example some churches may discourage dance whereas others will encoporate it into the service.

Photographer seeks advice on prints

I was wondering about how I’d go about selling my prints. I have worked in film recently, printing my own 10×8″ prints, but that requires a darkroom which I no longer have access to, so I would have to have them commercially printed, along with the newer digital images. Could you recommend a company, possibly online, that others in Veritasse use, or point me in the direction of someone who’d know? I was thinking of offering options on unframed or framed prints and greetings cards/postcards to keep costs to a minimum.

A seminar and meeting for Artisans and others

Veritasse provides good opportunities for networking through the web site and newsletters but perhaps there is a need for Artisans to meet occasionally. I understand that Veritasse doesn’t have the resources to make this happen but I would be willing to put some time to it should there be sufficient interest. My suggestion is this:We meet at a venue in Monmouth on a Saturday next spring.

Help! Sending canvases abroad.

Hi,

I’m Jo. Very new to all this. Does anyone have advice with getting block canvas’s sent abroad? I’ve been told to remove it from the frame and send it rolled in bubble wrap and brown paper, instead of a tube (because it’s acrylic and could melt)? Is this a possibility and what has your experience been? I’d love some feed back and help.
