August 11th 2010 - Wonderful reception for artwork at New Wine
The teams of helpers on the Veritasse stands at Shepton Mallet and Newark were so encouraged by the responses of conference goers to the artwork on display. At Newark, there were three incidences of people who had been given pictures by God, either by direct revelation or through another person, which corresponded almost exactly to pictures they then saw on the Veritasse stand! Helpers saw people standing for ten minutes or more in front of a picture, with tears in their eyes, while God did a deep work in them. Another encouraging response was that of Christian artists, or those feeling a stirring of their creative urges. Many of these talked enthusiastically to Veritasse helpers about their passion for using art to glorify God. One woman said that she would be getting out her paintbrushes to start painting again, after a break of many years. We praise God for the opportunities to talk to people, pray with people and to minister them, using pictures.

June 22nd 2010 - Witney Gallery on the move
Within the next couple of weeks, the Witney art gallery, managed by Ewan MacFarlane, will be moving to Witney High Street, from its current position near Church Green. Aidan Meller, director of the gallery, has been looking for a new shop for some time, as part of his plan to raise the profile of the gallery within the town. "I love the quaintness and the history of Market Square, which has served us well since we opened, but we are now outgrowing the building. The new shop is much bigger and makes a wonderful gallery space. It is nearer to the centre of the town and will be easier for visitors to find."The new gallery is situated at 46 High St, Witney, Oxfordshire. OX28 6HQ

May 27th 2010 - New gallery in Oxford
Aidan Meller, director of Veritasse, has opened a new art gallery in Oxford High Street. The miraculous provision of premises in such a key position has delighted Aidan. He had been looking for suitable premises, since the Maidenhead gallery closed, when the property changed hands. The new gallery will be showcasing significant modern and contemporary artwork, from Picasso and Warhol, to contemporary giants, such as Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons. Aidan, with Sotheby’s expert training behind him, is setting out to exhibit the best the art world has to offer. The opening exhibition displays the work of artists, Andy Warhol and Michael Ashcroft. Gallery manager, Heather Robinson, said, “We were amazed that we had sold work within hours of opening the door. We felt that the venture would be successful, but did not expect to sell so quickly.”Members of the public can often get the impression that art is only for an elite group. Aidan Meller is keen to show that art is meaningful and accessible to everybody. He explains, “Galleries need to demystify the art world. An art gallery is a very exciting place to be. We want to enable people to participate in art and really enjoy the work.”To find out more, contact the gallery manager, Heather Robinson, on 01865 727996 or visit the gallery at 105 High Street, Oxford. February 16th 2010 - Veritasse team visits London galleries
Aidan Meller, the director of Veritasse, arranged a last minute visit to London galleries last week, as a thank you to Veritasse staff members. It was a delightful day, which took in a range of artworks, old and new. Staff enjoyed conceptual work by Candice Breitz at the White Cube and the centenary of Edward Seago at the Portland gallery. Work ranged from photographs of octogenarians at the Alexia Geothe gallery, to pop art at the Belgravia. The Halcyon gallery was exhibiting striking and beautiful sculptures by Lorenzo Quinn and photo-realistic paintings of falconry. Equally fascinating were the ancient portraits of Queen Elizabeth I and other historical figures at the Philip Mould gallery. Sue Newham, membership co-ordinator, said, "I would thoroughly recommend visiting well established commercial galleries to all artists. It has certainly made me aware of both the uniqueness of every artist, but also the sheer hard work that top artists put into perfecting their craft."
